Teamfight Tactics belongs to the same genre as is Auto Chess. It is quite similar in many ways. However, it is more addictive and interesting due to its mechanism. This auto-battler game brings more challenges for the players.
For the players new to the game, I am explaining here a detailed guide on the Champions, Gold, Gameplay and Tips and Tricks to Win. I have divided the guide into small sections to make it easily understandable.
What is Teamfight Tactics About?
Including you, there is a total of eight players in the game and every player holds his own “chessboard” to place his units. These units are called Champions in the game. Every hero has a particular skill in fighting. So, the champions fight against their enemies automatically by using their particular skills.
The game goes on eight vs eight and you have to buy champions from Tier 1. Every player gets 100 health points in the beginning. So, the player who still has health points at the end of the round is considered a winner.
The game consists of five rounds. In four rounds, the players face PvP fights but the fifth round is the most difficult round where the players face PvE i.e. they fight against the computer.
There is a total of 49 champions in all Tiers. They all lie in 13 origins and 10 classes.
Before the match begins, there is a Carousel when you have to select your hero. Eight players take part in the game and every player has to select one hero. Build a strong team against your enemy. The heroes fight automatically in the game. So, you can win the game by applying some strategies. Select the players with great care and build a powerful team.
In the first three rounds, the game is not difficult and you get more gold, EXP and different items. Don’t waste them. Use them to build a strong team. Think strategically to defeat your enemy. Once, these rounds are over, you will start facing the real players.
While a few rounds are over, you will face off against some other creep waves that bring more gold and drop some more items for you. Collect them all to be used at later levels.
The Carousel always comes after a few rounds of the game to give you more choices of heroes. Every hero has equipped some unique items this time. Check the items of every hero and think carefully which hero you need to pick.
When a round is over, you get EXP and some quantity of gold on the basis of your performance. The performance of every player is judged in that round. You can use this gold to update your character and to get new champions too.

Importance of Gold
Gold is highly important due to many reasons. It is used to purchase different items. You can buy champions if you have sufficient gold. You can refresh your shop by spending 2 gold. Furthermore, you can get a bit EXP by spending 4 gold. It will upgrade your leveling process and you would be able to buy more champions.
How to Earn Gold
There are some ways you can adopt to earn gold because it is a highly important item in the game. Here are the ways.
There is a bonus gold at the end of every round. You earn passive gold due to your good performance.
If you have a considerable quantity of gold, you will earn 5 gold on it at the end of every round. So, if you have gold, don’t spend it blindly. Think twice before spending it on purchasing characters and items.
When you win the round or lose it, you get some gold. The gold quantity varies for the winner and the loser.
Once, you have defeated your enemy, a surprise chest full of gold appears on the top left of your screen. You need to collect it immediately otherwise it will disappear. You should take your avatar towards the chest and make him run over it to collect the chest.
If you have placed a minimum of three champions with pirate buff, you will get additional gold from the game.
Items and Their Composition
Items play a vital role in the game. When you are going to select heroes, you need to check their items first. Some items increase the health and others spell magic. Some items enhance the power of the user and other items can reduce the power of the enemies. Assigning the right item to the concerned hero can make you the winner of that day. So, get knowledge about items and enjoy the game. See the list of items and their compositions below.

Structure of Teamfight Tactics
You have learned about the basics, champions, and items in the game. Now, it’s time to know the basic structure of TFT. Let’s see how many phases it has and how the game moves on.
Before the beginning of every round, the players have 30 seconds time. It is given to them to buy champions, to exchange them, to refresh the store and even to place their units. In this phase, you should be active and don’t spend too much time in the shop. Compose a stronger team. Check the characteristics of every character before participating in the game. Furthermore, don’t spend gold on shopping at initial levels. At the advanced level, you need more gold to get stronger units. Use the gold at the desired time.
Combat Phase (PvP)
The next to planning is Combat phase. In this phase, the players fight against other players in the game. It continues for forty seconds where your champions fight with enemies automatically.
Combat Phase (PvE)
In this phase, the player has to fight against the computer. He fights against the monsters controlled by AI. Every monster has carried some particular items that are highly significant. Fight fearlessly and defeat them. Once they are defeated, they will drop the items. These can be used by your heroes in later levels of the game.
Tips & Tricks to Win
After the knowledge above, let’s come to the point that is very important for the players. Everyone wants to win the game and there are some particular tips and tricks that can be used to win the game. Teamfight Tactics is not an exception. You can apply some tips to win the game besides understanding the mechanism of the game. Follow the points given below in this context.
- Watch your opponents closely. See how they have built their teams. See their composition and check the list to know which heroes will be the best against them.
- Be flexible in your choice in every round. Don’t stick with the same strategy and the same choices of champions in the entire game. When you get gold, rebuild your team to increase the chances to win the game.
- If you are losing every round, you need to rebuild your team quickly. Don’t waste time and swap a few champions out and replace with some new ones. If you do not replace them, you will lose all levels.
- Gold is very precious in the game. So, don’t spend gold in the earlier rounds. Keep it aside to spend on advanced rounds when you have to buy the strongest and the most expensive champions. Try to save the gold for rerolling the team on advanced levels.
- Before Carousel round, you need to understand the characteristics of every champion and every item. Try to assign the right item to the right hero to become a winner.
